None of the online streaming media is hosted on this site. All media is embedded from other websites such as as GoogleVideo, YouTube, Dailymotion, Guba, Tudou, MegaVideo, Veoh, Youku or the like. Furthermore, none of the featured media has been uploaded by me.
The owner of this site is not responsible for the accuracy, compliance, copyright, legality, decency, or any other aspect of the content of other sites. Any videos residing on 3rd party websites have passed their own stringent internal vetting procedures and as such as assumes as fully authorised for publication by the content owners. If you have any legal issues please contact appropriate media file owners / hosters. All issues concerning copyright violations should be aimed at the sites hosting the material such as as GoogleVideo, YouTube,Dailymotion etc..
Anyone can find the same content on Google Video or YouTube by them selves. The owner of this site cannot know which documentaries are in public domain, which has been uploaded to e.g. google video by the owner and which has been uploaded without permission. I am willing to remove any violating material immediately upon request. However copyright owner must further contact the source website if he wants his material off the Internet completely.
2. How can I have my Documentary listed on this site? Can I just send link of a documentary for you to add?
If you are the copyright holder, upload the film to any of the video hosting websites that I mentioned above and send me the link.
You are welcome to send me the Documentary name and Link from the Submit Documentary Page. However please make sure the documentary is in public domain or there is no copyright restrictions over the documentary.
3. Where can I check the copyright status of the documentary and what is “public domain”?
“When a work’s copyright or patent restrictions expire, it enters the public domain and may be used by anyone for any purpose.” Read more on wikipedia.
Another explanation is “A video may fall under public domain if: (1) the term of copyright for the video has expired; (2) the author failed to satisfy statutory formalities to perfect the copyright or (3) the video is a work of the U.S. Government.”
To read other descriptions please visit Archive.org, Library of Congress Copyright Database, The Public-Domain Movie Database, Proof of Public Domain, Union for the Public Domain, U.S. copyright Office
And these are the other websites that you can find the list of films and documentaries which are in public domain: Archive.org, Publicdomaintorrents.com, The Association of Moving Image Archivists (AMIA), Footage.net, Creative Common
4. How do I watch in full screen and How can I download a video?
Click the full screen button located beside the volume control. To return to the original size, hit Esc. In order to download, Use any of Firefox Ad-ons or go to Keepvid or Video Downloader and follow the instructions. My advice is you should only download movies that are in public domain/open source/creative commons.
5. I can’t view the videos?
If the screen is blank and nothing happens then video has probably been removed. They have been removed by GoogleVideo, YouTube or a similar video hosting service by any number of reasons. If the video plays but suddenly stops you should try moving the video timeline pointer past the point where it stops. Another good option is using a different browser such as Firefox and Chrome.
Videos hosted on MegaVideo have a time-limit. I can advice 2 options. First one is: If it stops just disconnect from the Internet from your router and reconnect. This will change your IP and you can continue from where you left. Second option is start the video and then pause it. After the full video loaded, disconnect from internet or just unplug the internet cable.
Here is a list of some websites which might help you to view the videos: Google Video Help Center, Windows Media Player, Flash Player, DivX Codec, DivX Player
